The Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering and Western Swing Festival : October 28-30
Founded in 1991, the event is named after one of Fort Worth’s most recognizable and celebrated Western heritage champions, Red Steagall – the man the Texas Legislature named the “Cowboy Poet of Texas” and a legend in swing country music.
Events include exciting ranch rodeo action, chuck wagon camp and competition, cowboy poetry and cowboy music, Ranch Cutting Horse Assn. Rodeo Finals, youth poetry contest, the Texas Trail of Fame, cowboy church, western swing dancing, and the NEW Texas Lone Star Open Live Bid Calling Contest. We’re honored to host several events like the ranch rodeo and chuck wagon camps!
The ranch rodeo gives us an opportunity to host events not normally included in our Fort Worth Stockyards Championship Rodeo, like team sorting, calf and maverick branding, team doctoring and wild cow milking! Of course we’ll still have fan favorite events like bronc riding and mutton bustin’ for the kids!
